A masters level qualification is integral to extending your career in sports medicine and is often required for the award of professional specialist titling. It is a tangible component of lifelong learning, developing and recognising the required specialist knowledge to provide high quality healthcare and performance enhancement to athletes of all ages and abilities, in different sports and exercise contexts.

Program overview

The Sports Medicine program is designed for doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists and exercise scientists* who have a passion for excellence in sports medicine practice, and assisting athletes of all ages and abilities to optimise healthy exercise participation and drive best performance.

As a student of this program, you’ll be equipped to anticipate, enhance and advance sports medicine best practice locally and internationally, with athletes of all ages and abilities. You will critically engage with contemporary evidence-informed course content designed by leaders in the fields of sports medicine, physiotherapy, podiatry and related science and clinical disciplines.

This innovative, flexible and fully online course will extend graduates capability in the evolving global sports medicine field.

As a graduate of the sports medicine course you will be awarded the same qualification and graduation certificate as you would if you were an on-campus student. If you complete your masters you will also be invited to attend a graduation ceremony in Melbourne.

*Please note that there is a unique pathway for exercise scientists that moves from the Specialist and Graduate Certificates in Sports Medicine directly to a Master of Sports Rehabilitation. This pathway ensures that all courses target the practice needs of each member of the interprofessional team.
