Welcome to the leading online option for training in psychiatry. This course is designed to equip national and international trainees and psychiatrists with the knowledge they need to provide quality and comprehensive care now and in the future.

Program overview

Led by the University of Melbourne’s Department of Psychiatry, this program is the only online graduate psychiatry program in Australia. The program is designed for qualified medical practitioners with an interest in mental illness or a desire to become a psychiatrist.

This fully accredited RANZCP program will encourage you to explore the theoretical concepts in psychiatry and their relationship to clinical practice. As a student of this course, you’ll learn from highly regarded psychiatric clinical leaders and be able to continue working while you study.

As a graduate of the Master of Psychiatry you will gain the same qualification and graduation certificate as an on-campus student because you will achieve identical learning outcomes from the same academics that teach our on-campus courses. You will also be invited to attend a graduation ceremony in Melbourne
