With a growing demand for Registered Nurses to demonstrate advanced knowledge and clinical skills in a range of acute and clinical settings, the University of Melbourne has developed the Specialist and Graduate Certificate in Nursing Practice, with specialisations in cardiorespiratory, or renal nursing. Delivered online with a clinical component, you will have the opportunity to develop highly sought-after clinical knowledge and practical skills while working in your area of specialty.

Work-integrated Learning Model

Our teaching model for nursing specialty graduate certificates is unique to the University of Melbourne. Our blended learning model combines flexible online study with a structured work integrated learning framework that includes instruction, supervision and assessment in core clinical skills. This model is designed to maximise your learning, clinically and theoretically. Consequently, you must seek support from your health service to undertake the course.

To be eligible for this course, you must be nominated by your hospital to support you to undertake the clinical practice component of the course. Speak with your Education Manager or Clinical Nurse Educator to confirm that your hospital is willing to support your clinical supervision.

Note: We will accept late applications until the week prior to the course commencing, however you must have been nominated by your hospital to support you to undertake the clinical component of the course.
